Adding to the long-running ‘Real Beauty’ campaign
Two decades ago, Dove made a stand in challenging false beauty standards. Today, their message is as relevant as ever: Keep Beauty real.
In keeping with this message, we created the first Dove ad that addressed how it could help women with Tattoos care for them. Our research showed that due to the milder moisturising properties of the bar, it rehydrated skin rather than stripping it of its natural oils. We discovered a lot of tattoo parlours in California were recommending Dove to their female customers.
We brought this fact to life by telling the story of a Brazilian woman who had a tattoo of a heart on her chest, which was then “broken in two” when she needed open heart surgery, and who afterwards looked after her heart by using Dove.
