Kelmscott Manor - Learning & Outreach

A re-brand of Kelmscott Manor’s Learning and Outreach Centre

Kelmscott Manor is the iconic home of William Morris, commonly referred to as the Father of the Arts & Crafts Movement. The house is open to the public as a permanent exhibition of his work, and the Learning & Outreach Centre caters to hundreds of schoolchildren, all eager to learn more about the great man.

Kelmscott asked us to create an identity for the Outreach Centre that would appeal to schools and families.

Our inspiration came from the playful drawings of Morris’s good friend Edmund Burne-Jones. His sketches of Morris doing cartwheels, eating, in the bath and getting drunk were just the right playful tone to appeal to young children and families alike. They also gave a flavour of the energetic, fun, and hands-on experience that the Learning & Outreach Centre provides.
